Twelve years ago the Township of Ocean upgraded their wastewater treatment plant. Because of its location in the center of Oakhurst, NJ the plant had stringent requirtements as to sound and odor emissions. The plant has fufilled those requirements and been a good neighbor ever since startup. The treatment processes are screening, degritting, carbonaceous removal with UNOX, and chlorination. The waste biosolids are thickened, anaerobically digested, and hauled away as liquid.
